Guanxi Certified Organic Jin Xuan Oriental Beauty Oolong Tea

Operated by the same family who grows the Guanxi TTES #17 and TTES #1, the material for this tea came from a tiny parcel of the same land with only several bushes planted. Guanxi township was once the crown area for tea exportation in Taiwan. Today some major tea factories remain operational, but most of the area has turned towards tourism instead of tea production. This plantation is a remnant of that glorious past.

"We don't know what it is." Said the owner Ms. Lin when we asked her about the tea trees. "The person who sold us the saplings told us it was all the same cultivar, but these trees just look entirely different." "We think it is a Jin Xuan,” we replied. “High possibility." The team had a rough clue of what cultivar it may be, but still were not 100% sure, so we decided to process the tea to find out.

We grew more and more confident that this is a Jin Xuan cultivar as we processed the material. After tasting the processed tea, we are fully clear: this is a Jin Xuan cultivar, however with a new and powerful terroir that no other plantation has ever provided.

Thanks to the very tiny production quantity, with only a few tea trees that could yield the material, one could say that the tea received the best care it could get, namely the big-waving that was executed immaculately by hand. The Jin Xuan from this plantation will taste completely different from anything we have offered before. It has a richness like its siblings TTES #17 and TTES #1 that are grown on the same soil, but with the noble touch that only a Jin Xuan could manifesst.
